Users could see in travel articles TripAdvisor rating, Google Map location, and for hotels click through to book on TripAdvisor earning CNN affiliate revenue.
My impact: Developed a superior in-article TripAdvisor hotel booking widget with improved conversion rates. The widget was adopted by editors on 30% of all travel articles because it was fast to embed thus significantly boosting affiliate revenue.
Learnings: Successful UX/UI design can harmonize user needs, editorial requirements, and business objectives.
